MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Two summers ago I attended a wonderful storytelling workshop for = teachers. I am really pleased to be able to pass along information = about this summer's opportunities. Susan Danoff is a storyteller whose organization, Storytelling Arts, = Inc., works with schools, teachers and students -- often in "at risk" = situations -- bringing the joy and magic and power of story to = schoolchildren. I am not an early childhood teacher, but I have heard = amazing stories of growth from those who do -- growth in literacy, in = understanding, and in interactions with others. After attending Susan's Summer Institute, I brought back to my (10 and = 11 year old) students a greater comfort and confidence with story and = storytelling, and some wonderful ideas that resulted in amazing poetry = and extraordinary masks created by the students. If you are a teacher -- or if you storytellers know of any teachers who = might be interested -- Susan is currently accepting applications. The = Institute is held at Princeton University for a week in the summer; this = year there is one residential program for people who live too far away = to commute. If you are interested, please look at her website at = www.storytellingarts.net or contact her at storyarts@aol.com You can also reach her at 609 430-1922 or PO Box 135 Kingston NJ 08528 Also, I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about being a = participant!
