MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit CALL FOR REPORTERS FOR HSA NEWSLETTER The Healing Story Alliance is in need of reporters to write a short article on the workshops at the 2004 NSN Conference in Bellingham, Washington which have to do with healing story. The articles will appear in the Fall HSA Newsletter which will come out before the Festival in October. Please let Millie Jackson mljackson@iserv.net know if you are willing to be a reporter. Requirements: 1. Attend a workshop connected with healing story. 2. Write an article of 200 words. 3. Write one sentence about yourself including contact information to go with the article. 4. Robin Moore and Debra Pieri: A Question of Honor: What Happens When Loved Ones go to War? brings to life the true wartime experiences of two American families. Caren Neile, and Kevin Cordi: Storytelling for a Peaceful Generation will teach the concepts behind storytelling and non-violence and how to apply them. Annie Goglia, and Kevin Brooks: Telling Stories Outside the Box: Breaking Out of Homophobia will model stories about a significant experience in gender roles. Eth-No-Tec (Nancy Wang and Robert Kikuchi-Yngojo): Ancient Wisdom Within will provide the safe structure in which you can name, disappear and replace personal barriers in order to fulfill the powerful creative and inspiring source that you are. Gertrude Johnson: Transforming Communities with Interfaith Telling: If You Build It, They Will Come will provide information on Interfaith Story Circle and practical tips, resources and guidelines for starting an interfaith story circle back home. Gail Rosen: Around the Campfire: Using Story in Grief Retreat Camps will ask—How do storytellers work with staff, counselors and “campers” at Hospice weekend retreats and camps? How do we walk the line between “therapy” and “art?” Wendy Welch: Storytelling as Life or Death—and Rebirth addresses building empathy toward asylum seekers/refugees in mainstream communities; a two part workshop. What questions does this paper raise, what approach does the author take towards answering them, and what knowledge does the paper illuminate? History: Any prior scholarship from this author that the paper derives from, whether or not any version of the paper has been previously presented at any conference or submitted to any journal, previous publications of the author in this area. Contribution: Author's view of the unique contribution the final paper will make towards enhancing storytelling studies. Optional, but useful for reviewers. References: Optional, but useful for reviewers. Length of Final Paper and Proposed Completion Date: The date the author will have the completed paper, as well as the anticipated page length (not including references or attachments).
